Got mine in the mail today, so everyone should expect it to come soon. Mine is pretty decent, they actually gave me an option to pay of the whole tuition with loans + some scholarship (gave me about $6K).

i guess there is no finiancial aid for international freshmen
riite?

I got a student loan of 2600. I'm out of state. Goodbye UIUC.

I think I would need a 100k loan next year when I apply from OOS. Both my parents barely make 15k/year together. :(

I got full ride in loans, which would give me flexibility in paying i guess, but it doesn't really do much for me.

could u tellme about these loans derekC..i am quite interested in taking one of them..?

well they said in the financial aid letter that the total cost of attendence would be around $38,000, and they offered about $2,500 in student loans and about $35,500 in parent loans. I didn't really read any more details about the loans than that since I have better offers from other schools, but if there's something specific about them you want to know, I could look it up for you.

i got about the same thing. my parents aren't too happy. did anyone get a work study?

I got a work study of $2500 for the year.

Does anyone know if we can view our awards online? I still haven't gotten a financial aid letter from them even though I was accepted in February.

I need help with the loan letter I really don't understand it. You know how there are two sections at the top where the estimated living expenses are and then the next section is where they estimate around how much each should contribute and beneath that it says need. My COA is around 21k and my need is around 16k. Than at the the bottom it has total aid awarded is $21,298.00 is that how much I'm getting? Somebody Help!

yeah im getting kinda nervous. still havent gotten any letter and ive been accepted since november...

I got my letter yesterday and it sucked. Nearly all of it is in loans, pretty much the same as the previous posters'. I guess I won't be going to Illinois.

How does financial aid work for out of state? I have all my tuition covered in financial aid, because my EFC is 0. If I was to transfer, would I be able to still get everything covered with loans, etc, or would I not have enough financial aid to cover everything. I shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket, even though I'm out of state?

mssales, if you see this, clear your private message bin and message me when you have. I can send you a reply to the one you most recently sent me if you clear some space.

Its April 13th, and I still haven't heard a word about financial aid. USC is cheep for me, but would like to go to UIUC to also minor in aviation. A student at Purdue told me that I might have to wait until after May 1 for Purdue's award letter. Could UIUC be the same story?

it says 38k for OOS on the letter but 30K on the website

38k is like private school, so what's up?

Mine says $27,410 tuition;$1000 books, $7716 living;$800 transportation; Misc $2050, total $38,976

Student loan subsidized- $2625
Parent Loans- $36,351
Total- $38976

They are so kind, what a waste of time, they should just come out and say OS students aren't welcome, thanks for not getting jack squat.

Well I can forget UIUC. They gave me an out-of-state waiver, but UIUC is still five times USC

Dang. I'm a White Sox fan too

Please explain how you got this and the situation.
