HI guys. I am current undergraduate student, I am looking for financial aid based on family’s income. I need 1,500$ per year, the rest is covered by scholarship. I live and study in Armenia. Is there any international foundation, which fits for this case ? Thanks in Advance.
Can you cover that with your summer job earnings?
Nope I would barely cover 30-35% of 1500 with my summer job earnings. Salaries here are too low and getting a job is not the easiest process.
So in your country you would get paid only the equivalent of $1 per hour?
I don’t know of any foundation that gives out free money to international students. Sorry. :-<
Madison85, yap, we are. Sounds really strangely, but that’s reality.
aunt bea, I have already got that kind of help, but that covers only 50% of my fee. Time to find some help to cover the rest )))
If you’re currently at a college, can you see what jobs you can get oncampus, and save it all? You’re allowed to work up to 20 hours on campus, and 40hours a week during breaks (that includes Fall Break and Spring Break, if anything on campus is open at that time…) $1,500 over the course a year is easy to earn in the US. Most oncampus jobs pay $7.50-10 an hour. If you have math skills, they’re always looking for math tutors. The early cafeteria shifts are always looking for workers - very, very few college students are willing to get up at 6 am. If you go and say you can do that 5 days a week for 2 hours, you’re likely to get a shift, and that’s $75/week right there (in 6 months, you’ve got the $1,500 covered).
@myos1634 : He is not in the US. He lives and studies in Armenia where jobs are scarce and pay $1/hour.

@MYOS1634 I don’t live in USA. Yap, I can work in my university, but Not this year, since the second one. But the salary is low in that case too, it may be just some money for daily expenses. It is not enough for covering 1500$
How are you paying the $1500 gap now?
@Madison85 Nice question )) My fee is divided into 8 equal parts and I pay the fee every month. I can afford me to pay 187.5 per month, don’t think that my family income per month is less than 200$, or if I pay my fee, I have to starve half of the month, not at all, not so critical, the problem is that anyway, 187.5$ per month it’s still to MUCH FOR ME.
You need to be communicating with people in Armenia about scholarship and work opportunities there. None of us are familiar with your situation, so we aren’t going to be able to come up with good advice for you.
@happymomof1 OKay, I got it. But My university is a US-accredited institution affiliated with the University of California. Does it play any role here ? I think, it does.
By ‘international foundation’ do you mean a program in the US, which is international for you, that would give you need based aid to study in Armenia? Unless you’re a US citizen on a study abroad program I don’t believe there’s a program in the US that can help you. If you’re attending a program that you believe is affiliated with a US college, your best bet is to contact [them directly](Forms – Office of the Registrar) to see what help may be available. Good luck.
Is this your school?

and
@austinmshauri I know about that site )) I thought, there are foundations which provide some kind of help to students ))) I hoped to get a foundation with billions of dollars which would not mind to help me with 5000$ )) just dreaming )) ya?
Why would a foundation based in the US give money to low income international students to complete studies outside the US? The best scholarships usually come from the colleges. If you’ve used all the resources at your school, then you may have to check out private loans in your own country.
@Madison85 yes, it is. “As with UC, qualified students who can’t afford it pay no tuition” and yes, I cannot afford to pay whole tuition that’s why I have discount there, but as I told you above, I can afford myself to pay the rest, the problem is that, in general, it’s still a high per month fee.
@austinmshauri yes, I am looking for that kind of help in my country, I though that there is something international too, no just local foundations.
