So for my financial aid, their offering me a UCSD Grant as well as the Cal Grant B. And then it also said I'm eligible for the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan. Does this mean I will automatically get that money when I enroll, I'll get that grant? I don't really understand how that works. Anyone else know?

I believe that you don’t actually “get” the money until very shortly before the bill is due. If you mean, will they automatically assign you some funds from the Blue and Gold, then yes, they offer you a financial package that adds up to the cost of attending. That package will be made up of different grants, loans, and work-study as well as an expected family contribution. Blue and Gold basically enables them to cover your tuition if your family makes less than 70K but the cost of room and board has to be made up from the other kinds of aid and the family. Blue and Gold is tuition only. It is automatic in the sense that you don’t have to do anything but fill out the FAFSA and complete the checklist items on the financial aid page in order for them to generate the package that they will offer you. If you want more specific info about your own case, call the financial aid office.
