Financial Aid, Brandeis in particular?

Hi all!

I posted this in the Brandeis forum with no real luck or responses, so I'm posting it here too... if anyone knows anything about Brandeis, please help a girl out here!

I'm applying to transfer to Brandeis for the spring, but I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer who has some know-how about Brandeis.

Is Brandeis need-blind re: transfer admissions? Probably not, but hope springs eternal...

How is Brandeis with FA? Can anyone tell me if their needs have been met? My issue with FA at my present school is this: my family's income/est. contribution is always juuuust high enough to prevent me from being eligible for certain FA and because of that we end up in hard times. My school has 0 understanding about this, though the school is also struggling financially, so it's not entirely their fault (since they don't have as much $ to distribute) but we're still hurting because of that.

I don't want to come to Brandeis if it's just going to hurt my family's wallet, so to speak, more than my present school is, but I adore Brandeis and hope someone can give me some helpful input!

Thanks guys.

Thanks entomom. Doesn’t help me at all with #2 so I’m hoping someone will be able to tell me something about that, but answers #1.

Brandeis is excellent with FA. My family is really poor, and Brandeis was very accommodating. As in, they met 100% of my FA needs. I turned down Carnegie Mellon because Brandeis literally doubled CMU’s offer.
