Financial Aid Calculator

I don't want to go into specifics, but is my "estimated family contribution" the amount my family can pay per year of for the entire four years?

It says my need for aid is $0 b/c my family's resources are sufficient to pay a year's expenses. Does this mean that I may receive aid later or I never will receive aid?

Per year. Bit of a shocker?

yup. 10char....

stambliark - do you have a sibling that will be in college at any time you are also in college? That is a huge factor in qualifying for financial aid, even in a family with otherwise sufficient resources.

No I don't, but I do have two younger sibilings in elementary school. Certainly rasing a child from elementary school to graduation (with college likely) has to be more of a burden. I find this puzzling, esp. as my Dad is near retirement age.

whats your income?

Try doing it again. The first time I did it, it was unusually high, but during the second time I must have corrected an error and the EFC turned out to be a lot lower

i played around with the calculator and I found out that it was surprisingly generous even if my family income doubled. I think many agree that you can't get better than Princeton in terms of need based financial aid.

Agree with Agrophobic. Try again, stambiark, and maybe have your parents look at the calculator. There may be financial circumstances affecting your income that your parents are aware of.

When they say value less debt, they mean the value of the property minus the mortgage right?
