Hi,

I was just wondering about something: many colleges do need-blind admissions for US students now. But on the common app they still ask "do you intend to apply for need-based FA? Y/N". I understand whether your financial situation may not be part of your admission decision, but could whether you answer Y or N to that question affect your application? You don't really demonstrate how much need, if any, you'll be needing by answering that question, so it seems to me that answering "Yes" to that question might affect your application, while the college still gets to claim to have a "need-blind admissions".

Does anyone know anything about how this works?
