I am an international student and I need a full ride to be able to attend. On bigfuture, it is listed that the average financial aid package is 47,000$ for international students, but there are only 21 international students who receive aid in Santa Clara undergrad.
Stats are near 75th and I have a few international level awards.
My family may be able to contribute sometbing between 3k-7k annually.
Will that be Okay? Is there anyone who has been awarded a huge financial aid package (55k+)? Or do you hear of someone??
It’s very difficult for international students to get financial aid. Only a handful of schools are need blind for international applicants. It’s going to be challenging. If you can get a look at the breakdown of how many international students with financial need were accepted, you’d see that the 20 accepted with aid packages tend to be top of line picks
I would recommend in looking into scholarships to supplement any aid you expect to get from SCU to make it more affordable.
Additionally, for any school you end up attending remember to take into account that the cost of tuition will increase in your 4 years at the school. Housing and food in the bay area is relatively expensive compared to other regions of the US, so if portions of those are not covered by your financial aid make sure to consider if you can afford to live in the area.
