Hi, im kinda new at this, but I was admitted yesterday, and I just checked the portal, and saw that I was in. No awards yet or anything. I received the official letter in the mail this morning. Still no email. I am just scared because I don’t think I can afford it with no award or aid. My FAFSA is also in already. if wondering OOS, (UW) GPA 3.1 (W) 3.4 (SAT)1940, Good essays review by counselors, plus Eagle scout, Marching band, law internships, varsity water polo and swim. Thanks
Did you run the Net Price Calculator on the school’s web site? CUB is a public U and it’s possible you didn’t get anything but a direct loan of $5500. Did you apply to anywhere in-state?
You’re OOS. The school charges high OOS rates because your parents don’t pay taxes there. It wouldn’t make much sense for a school to charge high OOS rates, and then had to dig deep into their limited FA wallet and give large awards to OOS students, right? Why bother charging high OOS rates if the school is then going to hand out a bunch of FA?? Right?
CU does give some merit aid to OOS students. Don’t worry, they charge plenty of OOS full tuition, but they do have some merit for top students. However, I don’t think 3.4 it going to get you much. Do run the NPC and it will give you an idea of what to expect.
