FINANCIAL AID DEADLINE for ED

im retarded, i didnt send in the penn financial aid supplement in by the nov. 1st deadline for ED applicants.......... what does this mean now? i assumed that i would take care of financial aid once i received a decision.

call the school on monday. Only they can give you the answer you want.

Agreed...you need to call Penn and ask them what to do now. In the meantime...check the deadlines to the schools you will apply to RD...you don't want to miss those deadlines too! Check each school's finaid website...and DO NOT MISS THE DEADLINES.

Penn will tell you one of a couple of things.

Fill out the Profile and send any supporting info ASAP and they will consider it when it arrives.

Do the above and your financial aid will be considered in the RD round of financial aid (if that happens that means you have the potential of having an ED decision without a financial aid estimated package).

I also sent my FinAid for Penn in late (But I sent it on like the 14th or something)
I don't think they cared...They just told me to send it in ASAP

If you are accepted, and it is getting close to the date they are processing ED financial aid...they WILL care...and so will you. You might not get your award close to when you get your acceptance.

To the OP...call Penn and ask them...but agreed...file the forms NOW...like today!!

yeah i am sending it out tomorrow... lol i feel so stupid but will this have an impact on how much aid i get? or is it just that i wont get my estimated financial aid decision if accepted?

also, on Penns financial aid checklist it says that i need to register for a CSS profile on collegeboard.. do i have to send the CSS profile to penn along with the financial aid supplement?

According to the UPenn website (do a search for "financial aid deadlines", the following items were due on November 1 for students applying Early Decision: Profile, Penn Supplement, Copies of parents and students 2007 taxes with w-2 forms, 1098's and all schedules. Your parent's and your 2008 tax returns etc are due by March. I didn't read about the FAFSA but that would probably be due ASAP after Jan 1.

So...you need to get the Profile done ASAP and submit it. You need to get signed copies of your parents' and your 2007 tax returns with schedules and W-2's and 1098 (that would be any interest statements), and get those to UPenn ASAP.

UPenn guarantees to meet full need for accepted students. In the end, your package may look different (things like Perkins loans, for example, are limited funds) but in theory the amount should be the same. BUT having said that...no one really knows how these schools use the Profile to determine institutional funding...which is mostly what you would get from UPenn.

You will need to call them to find out what this means for you. I have no idea what they will tell you. Call them.

And in the meantime...go to EACH of the schools you plan to apply to RD and find out their deadlines. Don't miss those deadlines.

thanks thumper... this process (CSS Profile, Penn F.aid supplement) is 10x worse than the actual application
