I just found out the financial aid application was due 1/2. I did not expect it to be on the same day as the application deadline because most colleges I applied to aren't that way.

Anyone else in the same boat as I am?

What can I do now, can I still apply?

Check out some of the other threads on this page about financial aid; as long as you get the forms in soon, there shouldn’t be a problem.

You can still apply. Unlike admissions, the Fin Aid office is much more forgiving. :)

so the CSS profile is online, but the Cornell FA App CANNOT be sent electronically, am I correct?

Which address do we use on our envelopes, the Undergrad Admissions office?

gashergina

the Cornell FA Application CAN be sent electronically
all you have do is save it, fill it out, and then submit it to them
or you can print out the form, fill it out by hand, scan it to your computer and send it that way.
Cornell actually prefers that the financial aid forms be sent online
the only thing i actually mailed out was my parent’s 2008 tax return because my scanner doesn’t work. everything thing else i submitted electronically. just check out their financial aid website, it explains EVERYTHING! hope this helps!
oh yea, if you do plan on mailing anything out, you would use the financial aid office’s address.

gigi
I’m checking Cornell’s finaid website, it’s finaid@cornell.edu, right?
Since it’s late, do I have to send a cover letter explaining?

I sent mine out the day it was due 1/2 but it was probably post marked later. Regardless, I don’t think you’d need a cover letter. They’re a lot more lenient with the Fin Aid deadline.

Know that among the high volume of applicants, not all of them know about the financial aid deadline which is ridiculously early. Also know that you won’t get rejected just because you sent in all of this like a week or 2 late.
