I think any questions are best sent directly to Dean J on her blog or FinAid.

These dates are indeed firm.

A reminder to parents of first year students that will be refiling this year, your student doesn't live with you anymore so you need to allow additional time to prepare forms, coordinate signatures, and file on time. The deadline is March 1, 2013, so plan accordingly.

Yes, don’t wait until you are accepted to file for financial aid.

Deadlines are also being enforced for submitting financial aid for upper class students. It is a little harder this year because there was so much uncertainty with Federal taxes, so that the online forms weren’t ready and the IRS wasn’t even accepting returns.

Just for clarification; Is this deadline for ALL new students? Or just incoming first-years? I looked on the transfer blog, and didn’t see anything about this.

Gettingout - I’m not going to guess on this. Please contact the Financial Aid Office directly @ (434) 982-6000
Their website is linked in the first post. I’m not trying to be unhelpful, I just want to make sure you absolutely get the correct answer.
