Financial Aid Deadline

Will colleges take financial aid deadline after April 1? My parents are having issues filing their taxes.

I assume so, but I hope for your sake the colleges you applied to have priority deadlines of April 1st.

Also, you can use estimated data for the time being until your parent’s taxes are done. BE SURE to correct your FAFSA when they get them finished.

Federally funded aid like the Pell grant will be offered to you if you qualify regardless of the filing date, I believe. So will a Stafford loan.

The deadline for institutional aid…money given by the colleges…has PASSED at most schools. You will need to check your college(s) to see if you really missed their deadlines. If you did, you possibly could be out of luck in the institutional aid department at some schools…call and ask.

Schools are sending out their admissions and financial aid decisions NOW. If you haven’t submitted your financial aid applications using esimates, you are quite late…the schools need time to process the information they receive so that YOU can have it in a timely fashion to make a matriculation decision by May 1.

Agreed with others…do BEST estimates ASAP (if you haven’t already done so)…but do call the schools…and ask.
