Financial Aid decisions?

Hi guys, I was admitted Early Action to Northeastern but hadn't filled out any of the required financial aid forms by December 1st (the CSS) because I just didn't know about it. Upon receiving my admission decision, I immediately went and filled out the CSS and the FASFA and submitted them the first week of January. Does anyone know when I will receive my financial aid decision or what will happen there?

You need to speak directly with admissions and/or financial aid office. Most people fill out the required forms AND then FAFSA, etc, which is why all EA accepted students find out their financial aid office with their admission decision. But if you didn’t, you need to ask the school what to do and what will happen. It’s possible they won’t tell you until the RD decisions, or they might just send you an e-mail saying a new document is uploaded. Worst case scenario, you didn’t fill out the forms on time and maybe they won’t give you any aid (but you’ll still get the federal loans).

None of us can answer that. Call admissions and the financial aid office and ask.

My son was also admitted early action at NEU. He did get some aid based on the CSS profile, but we’re hoping for more through the FASFA. Not sure when final aid decision is made, but they do have a session on financial aid at the admitted student days in February, and will ne a good time to ask.

My two cents: I was admitted early action but my parents didn’t fill out the CSS and FAFSA until about three weeks ago. In other words, the financial aid paperwork did not get submitted until several months after I submitted my application. I received notification of my financial aid award last week.
