Everyone please post your yearly financial aid decisions, along with your SAT I and your income status.

Thanks

1520 SAT, about 100K a year income (my brother is also in college for 28K a year) and I got 0 financial aid.

1470, 35K income, 25K award package (16K grants and scholarships)

Whoa..whoa...I got a $10,000 CAS scholarship BUT NO OTHER FIN AID WHATSOEVER! The letter says "Although you did not file a FAFSA..." BUT I DID! I just checked on FAFSA online and it confirmed that I did! What's going on??? NYU is way too expensive for me w/o decent finaid.

This is most probably just a horrible mistake that can be rectified tomorrow, but I'm slowly going into panic mode...

EDIT: Or wait...is it like this for everyone (merit award first, need-based later)? Should I be hearing from the fin aid office separately within the next week? I'm also slightly peeved that I couldn't get a full-tuition scholarship (or close to it).

1300, 60K Income, O Financial Aid (Well technically I got 9,000 in Financial Aid, but it was all loans, so I don't see how that counts. I can get loans without NYU's "aid"....) Obviously I won't be going, but it was cool to be accepted :)

Phantom-
No, you should have gotten merid and need based together. And don't be annoyed by your 10k scholarship. Most people got nothing merit related and NYU gives no full tuition scholarships. You should be happy with what you got.

1320, 120K income... 16k in financial aid (7000 GSP scholarship).. if it says "academic year earnings," is that referring to work study or an outside job?

1470, 30k income, $8000 trustee scholarship (is that good?), about 20k total including need-based stuff.

I apologize in advance but this question is not exactly a financial aid question, but I was wondering for those that received a scholarship, does anyone know the qualifications/any type of guidelines?

1450... not sure of income- my parents did the fafsa and what not. 7,000$ per year trustee scholarship plus 4,000 work study and 4,000 loans...

what is the trustee scholarship??!?

1490 SAT....income: 26000 in year 2004, I got 33000 total...but 5000 are loans...is that a lot of fin aid or small??

That's a really good package! Congrats!

SAT 1410, $17000, parents income like 60,000

SAT 1260, unsure of parent's income (but my dad is a securely-self employed accountant and we live comfortably), $10,000/yr Steinhardt scholarship.

Everyone who got bad financial aid, what do you plan to do? I dunno if NYU will budge... they have a bad rep for financial aid.

CAS Scholarship/Presidential Honors Scholar money of $25000. Additional NYS grant of $2000, $4000 in work study, and $5000 in loans. $36000 overall! My mother and I flipped out immensely when we saw that package. My family income is a little bit less than $60000 so I guess the merit scholarship was the major chunk of my package.

1550 (800M/750V) SAT

accepted to steinhardt, got a $13,550 trustee scholarship, $4,000 workstudy, and $5,000 in loans ! (totalling $22,575) i'm very happy with my package, i expected nothing!
SAT: 1300 (650/650)
rank: 6/131

Bah! Only $10,000 CAS scholarship. No loans or work study.
SAT: 1500
Rank: 1/555

Only $10,000 scholarship? I only got $5,000 CAS scholarship, but total fin. aid package comes to about $24,000....not bad, but i still have to shell out another $20,000!!

SAT 1320 (660V/660M)

"Only $10,000 scholarship? I only got $5,000 CAS scholarship, but total fin. aid package comes to about $24,000....not bad, but i still have to shell out another $20,000!!"

I probably didn't get any loans or work study because my step-father, who is a few years from retirement, has too much in assets. My parents are still supportive of my attending NYU though. I'm still rather bummed about my low fin aid amount :(.
