SAT1 Verbal 660, Math 700
SAT 2 Phy 690, Bio 700, Writing 740

My extra curriculars are pretty strong n i expect my recos to be strong as well but the stats are my problem. please do help me with your comments.

i think you have a good shot at trinity. the school is good with aid too...

chicago would really depend on how awesome your essays were.

about your scores, the 740 writing stood out. thats good for an intl. your rank isnt that awesome tho... try to raise it by midyears if you can.

hmmm, i am from karachi, pakistan, and i also applied to F n M, they rejected me, even though i was willing to pay 15k, they rejected 4 of my friends who were asking for the same amount of aid. all of us got into much better schools, i got into Gtown, with a full tuition scholarship, and my other friend got into BAtes, with 40k in aid take F n M off your list, and UChicago. UC gives no aid to internationals, dont even bother. a friend of mine was highly qualified, but was wailisted. he was told he was exceptional and perfect UC material, but they could not give him aid, but waitlisted him, since they did not want to reject him. he got into Williams and Dartmouth with about 35k aid. trinity is good, they give lots of aid, as is hamilton. put in colgate as well. i know three peoiple from my school who got into these three schools with about 30k aid, from trinity this dude got a full ride. you really havent mentioned what you want to do but i would recommend georgetown as well because they give 5 full tuition scholarships each year. you havent mentioned if you are male or female. if female apply to Mt. Holyoke, they are very generous with aid. Dickinson gives aid as well. Gettysburg is also a good choice. ALso try one or two of the ivies, like yale, which is need blind for internationals. Williams is also need blind, but is just as competitive as an ivy. I dunno much about the other colleges you ahve mentioned, but definitely take Franklin and Marshall and U of Chicago off your list because they will reject you on the basis of aid.

and i know of another, class of 2008 as well. not from delhi so i'm sure we're talking different people. 100% aid, monthly stipend. but the guy was good.

that's two indians that got pretty much a full ride

also u of chicago gives 30 scholorships/year ( full tuition room board and everything) these scholorships go out to anyone regardless of ur nationality so it wont be held againt u if ur int. but ur essays have to be DAMN good and realy REALLYYYY original good luck im on the same boat o ya and apply to yale they r pretty good with aid i hear

hmm...thats news to me regarding uchicago. yeah, yale is need blind for internationals. ritz and astrix, are you sure these indians held only an indian passport?

No, actually U of Chicago says on its own web site that it gives approximately 16 financial aid packages to internationals. The site also makes it clear that they are not all full rides. And, it mentions that only the absolute top students receive them. I would agree that U of Chicago is not generous with aid for internationals. They are also not need blind so they will consider your need during the application process.

I would suggest adding schools like Grinnell, Macalester, College of Wooster to your list - they are pretty good about aid for internationals. Hope is also an excellent choice, especially if you are interested in the sciences - they have one of the most outstanding undergraduate research programs in the U.S.

i'm sure barcaholic - but the one i know of was an excellent applicant in terms of his marks and essays, so yes, it's very competitive if you need aid. and he was initially waitlisted.

thanks to all guys 4 ur contributions in this thread.
