I was recently disqualified from financial aid. I just screwed up 2 semesters but prior to that, I have been getting great grades. A's and B's. Then I just lost track and got C's D's and F's for 2 semesters.

I have to file a petition if I wanna reapply for financial aid. sadly, they want supporting documents and I don't have anything. I mean, I just messed up. I don't know what else to tell them.

is there any hope for this?

^The school want to know are you continue to be mess up or not.

If you have no explanation beyond just messing up/slacking off, then they’re pretty justified in taking away your financial aid. They’re going to want to hear why you did poorly, and what you’ve done to solve the problem moving forward so that you won’t waste more money/time.

well I have been getting A’s ever since. what do I tell them? I really just messed up. but I am doing better now.

The school want to hear: How are you going to prevent yourself to be mess up again?

You tell them the cause of the problem, and how you’ve already solved it and why it will not reoccur.

they want “supporting documents” what do I attach?

A study plan or something like that.

Have you met with an academic advisor? It’s a good idea to do that, if possible. You can include the written plan, signed by your advisor.

financial aid advisor? or counselor?

Your academic advisor should be able to help you formulate a planned course load so you will be successful. This plan can be included in your letter.

I have to say…it’s one thing to have ONE clunker semester…but you had TWO.

I had to really get myself together. the first time I thought it was just because I was taking hard classes and being lazy. but the second time I was like k I’m doing something wrong. so

Your academic advisor should be able to help you.

thank you to all of you who helped answer!
