about a month after I applied, I received an email from the financial aid department at UVA simply saying: The Office of Admission at the University of Virginia has notified Student Financial Services that you have applied for admission to the University and listed how to go about applying for aid, dates, etc...

Is this a generic e-mail that goes out to all applicants...this decision waiting is really starting to drive me crazy!

I don't know about the email, but i hear ya about going crazy. I got a large envelope from the financial aid department and i was reaching(hoping) for it to be some kind of sign. l0l my better judgement leads me to believe that the financial aid department contacting people has nothing to do with admissions. only a week and a half left though!

hmm i didn't receive anything else from the financial aid dept...when did you get this?

Yea, I got an email and phone call about a month after I applied reminding me to turn in my f.a. application.

Yesterday, my mom received a letter from f.a. asking for some documentation. She called them and asked when it needed to be turned in since decisions come in a week. They replied, "as soon as possible or it will delay the f.a. package".

Hope I'm not getting my hopes up!!

well i never got a phone call. i hope that is not a bad sign. All i got was a page in my tax return sent back and flagged because my dad didn't sign it (he was out to sea when i sent my finaid app out.) I dare say it is not as interesting as a personal phone call!

No worries, Leah006 -- I applied 1 Jan. and they called to remind me on 27 Jan (I remember because I was in Atlanta for a few days). Hardly time to give my application a peak and find that I'm a clear admit -- which I am NOT. I'm not a legacy (at least not directly) either.
