Financial Aid ED

Hello everyone, I was accepted ED to Cornell for the Fall of 2014. I received my financial aid package for ED students in December but it was my belief that this was just an estimate. Anyway, with the release of RD admissions and financial aid awards for those students, I was wondering if ED students received a finalized aid package or not? I remember in February, I did the FASFA and sent in the IDCC thing so I was wondering why I haven't received any information other than Cornell welcome letters. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks!

We’re still waiting for the final package. I’m guessing it will be this week. Getting RD packages together first was probably a priority.

You will get a finalized financial aid package. I applied ED last year and your estimate is basically the final unless something drastic happened to change your family’s financial standing since the taxes from the previous year like a huge raise or something. You won’t get an absolute final until the beginning of June but your estimate is going to be your final. My case was a little bit unusual because my mom had to supply extra documents because of unusual circumstances. But you will get a final aid letter around June and your student and family contributions should remain the same.

June seems really late. We did have a change of income and I’d like to know before that!

Renomamma, Use the Financial Aid calculator with the Change of Income. Plug in the numbers that you used in your FAFSA and CSS to see if the FA estimate you received with the decision is accurate. It should be. Then plug in the numbers with change of income and you will see what the revised FA is going to be and you do not have to wait till June.

Thanks. Maybe I’ll do that.
