I have heard from a few of my friends that you can't apply ED and for financial aid is this a myth or is it true?

yeah I also want to know about it....

The application for ED admission and application for financial aid are separate, so what you heard is false. Whether you apply for financial aid (FA) is immaterial to your ED application. However, since Dartmouth is ED (acceptance is binding), you're left with whatever amount they award upon your acceptance. You lose the ability to compare FA packages from other schools that you would have had if you apply RD.

However, if you get in ED and find the financial aid package to not be good enough, Dartmouth may reconsider your package, or, if no solution is possible release you from the plan. I am unsure of whether or not you forfeit your acceptance of the latter is the case.

I got in ED, and my financial aid package was great.
