I'm bent on applying ED to UPenn and the only thing holding me back is finaid. I get you're not supposed to apply ED if you're hesitant about finaid, but it's more of my family could afford it (i think), but would like some finaid. From what I've heard/asked my friends at UPenn, they pretty much got no financial aid ED. (I have a friend who applied ED but got in and did actually back out because of lack of finaid.)

I also asked my regional admission officer and his reply was essentially, Penn has no EFC calculator and it's done a calculation by calculation basis. My family earns around $80,000.

What do you think of Penn's financial aid/what's your experience with it?

Though we did have a member before who got a crappy deal, he talked to the financial office again and they redid it for him and gave him a much better deal.

Like I said, don't ask when you apply if you're international or your status is screwed up (like mine for now).
If and when (hopefully) you get in, then ask. They pretty much have a rolling financial aid system at UPenn.

if you apply ED and get accepted when do you find out about your financial aid package? do you find out when you get accepted or later on after you submit the fafsa? if you submit the fafsa in the spring, and need financial aid, does that mean you don't have to withdraw your other applications until then since technically financial aid is the only way to get out of an ED agreement?
