Financial Aid Experience?

Hi there BS parents! I've applied to NMH and Chatham Hall for my junior year (2013-14).
I require almost full FA and was wondering if you could maybe share your financial aid experience at BS. (Maybe in retrospect to those 2 schools?)

Did you require a lot?
Did the school meet your demonstrated need?

If FA waitlisted...
Did you get off the waitlist?
If so, did the school meet your demonstrated need?

Ibellebanz, see this thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-parents/665411-post-results-if-fa-need-50-a.html

If I have a single mom who makes about 100k to 150k a year will I qualify?

^ On the topic of money, you beat me, NikDangles. However, I would suggest filling out the PFS and going on from there.

@Ibellebanz: I’m applying for this year; I’ll be sure to tell you my experience when I have it! I need 50++++ percent of FA, so…not that great. But we’ll see if my profile is enough to overcome this ;)

There are a lot of factors to consider in addition to salary, including number of other siblings, other tuition paying, geography, etc. etc.

Each school’s FA algorithm is different, and also can be quite different from what the numbers on the PFS show. Anyone who chances you for FA based on your mother’s salary alone (and that’s a fairly broad range, btw) is being irresponsible in their advice.
