Financial Aid Experts--Needed!

I finally got my financial aid packet, and I am okay with the final estimate. What I would like to know is whether UM would be worth the money.

Out of 44,000, they gave me 24,000 (6,000 which are in loans, which I would be paying myself). My parents would have to pay 20,000 out of their own pockets. I am planning on working, doing scholarships, and really get up on it.

Now, if I do not go to Michigan, I will be stuck at Penn State-Erie. It is not even University Park; its Erie. Their tuition is 29,000 and my parents will have to pay 13,000 out of their pockets. As you can see, the difference between Erie and University of Michigan is 7,000. Is that 7,000 worth it? Thank you for the answer. I'm pretty sure it is.

As a whole, is 20,000 worth it? Thank you! By the way, I was admitted into their BFA Acting track. So I will be in School of Music, Dance and Theatre.

I know it’s a major financial burden, but I have to say go to Michigan over PS-E. If you decide to leave fine arts, you’ll have a plethora of programs to choose from that are top notch. It sounds like you want Michigan badly. Go for it!
