I'm considering applying to Bowdoin Early Decision, and I'm nervous about the amount of financial aid I might receive. Can anyone who applied to Bowdoin Early Decision tell me if they got less than they were hoping for? Thanks!

Really that won’t help you, someone else’s family is likely to have very different figures an circumstances. What does the NPC say your package will look like and is your family conformable with that? If it is different, then at least you would have something to go back to them with. But applying ED means taking a look at the package then accepting or rejecting without being able to compare net costs after offers from other colleges.

applied ED, got in, did not get financial aid package needed, but its different for everyone, still going though!
Did your run your family numbers through the NPC for Bowdoin? Did the NPC results come up completely different from what you ended up getting? Bowdoin is considered one of the most generous schools in terms of aid. You may want to run NPCs for other colleges on your list for RD so you don’t pick more of the same.
If you didn’t get the FA package you Needed then how can you attend anyway?
correction *did not get financial aid expected. It is not impossible for us to pay, but it is not what we should have gotten by any stretch
It sounds like it’s what you should have gotten by Bowdoin’s calculations. It was just not as much as you hoped for.
Glad it’s working out. And congratulations on your acceptance.
Is it true that Bowdoin is a “no loan policy” college?
While Bowdoin has a no loan policy, it does not mean that you may not need loans to attend Bowdoin. It definitely does not mean that Bowdoin will be free as there is often a big disconnect between what the family feels they can afford to pay and what the school feels that the family can afford to pay.
You may need loans to meet your EFC or loans for start up cost to attend school or to meet your student contribution (if you fail to work and earn the monies).
