So I'm a student who will be receiving some, but not that much, financial aid next year, and I noticed on the OIT letter that it said students can get their financial aid increased up to $2000 in order to buy a computer. Then it says, "Students...should contact the Office of Financial Aid to discuss their situation." I tried to do that, but the woman told me to just wait until I get their and not buy my computer until then, and then discuss it with the financial aid office. But I don't know, that just seems weird to me-- the OIT made it sound like you could find out right away, and with so many kids receiving financial aid I can't imagine all those people waiting until school begins to buy their computer.

Does anybody else know more about this? Is it even worth it, when it's not like I'm getting a full ride?
