Financial aid for E2 visa holders.

Hello everybody
I am currently a senior in an NYC public school, and have spent my junior year here as well. I am here on an E2 visa, and my parents own a business through which they paid taxes. My question is will there be financial aid for me through CSS International Profile form, because my parents pay taxes to the New york state?

Any financial aid (if any) will come from the school. Federal/New York State financial aids are not available to E2 visa holders.

If you are not a citizen, permanent resident or eligible non-citizen, you will not be able to file the FAFSA making you ineligible for Federal/State aid. You will be considered an international student in the admissions process although you will be eligible for in-state, in-city tuition at SUNY/CUNY.

As to whether or not there will be aid for you will depend on your parent’s income/assets. The only aid that you would be eligible for would be merit $ or need based aid (if you qualify) that comes directly from the institution (x-posted with 4kids dad).

Not sure if OP attended NYS high school for at least two years and graduated from NYS high school too.

See https://www.suny.edu/student/paying_residence.cfm

OP states he was in NYC high school junior and senior year, which will fulfill his 2 year residency requirement

^^Great. If OP is attending SUNY/CUNY, he/she kinda receives some financial aid (in-state vs OOS tuition rate).
