Financial Aid for Early Decision

Profile is a separate measure. A combination of information from both Profile and FAFSA (not identical information) is used in an internal Brown-specific calculation to determine aid awards.

Applying late simply means your package will potentially be constructed after other packages are constructed and it is possible you will receive less aid than you would have if you applied earlier.

I don't really think this ever ends up affecting your aid package, however, since complete, exact numbers cannot be determined until FAFSA is submitted in Feb.

Actually you can send your CSS/PROFILE for free upto 6 colleges if the numbers you put in indicates that your family is low-income. Thank god.

I know that at least one college (Colgate) prefers CSS/PROFILE to FAFSA apparently because the former is more specific. (If I heard correctly) In fact, I don't think Colgate requires FAFSA.
