Hey! Hoping to get some help from current pomona students that applied ED. When do you receive the financial aid package? My parents are pretty worried that it won’t be generous enough. Does the package come after you turn in your FASFA or do you have to fill out a separate financial aid form right after you get accepted? Thanks!
D received her initial FA offer with her ED acceptance letter (mid-December). Pretty sure they base the EFC on the CSS Profile, which was due the same date as the ED application. Somebody else feel to correct me, but I believe that any federal aid awarded through the FAFSA just offsets direct Pomona aid that is included in the initial offer.
@otisp Ok, thank you!
I’ve heard the same thing. I’ve also heard of students petitioning their original offer and the FA office actually changing it, so hopefully that could help. I’m on the same boat, anxiously awaiting December 15. Good luck!
@RainaJ Thanks!! Funny story actually, my counselors don’t even know what the CSS profile is and I turned it in (very) late but Pomona was fine with it thank god!
Do you know if you’re allowed to apply to other schools early action with an ED application into Pomona? I did, and I’m thinking I may need to pull my EA application because Pomona’s website says “You may only apply to one college or university through an early decision program,” so it seems like it’s ok as long as it’s not another ED program.
@RainaJ I applied EA to UChicago so I think it’s fine! ED and EA are different so you’re definitely ok.
Agree. The FA offer wasn’t what had been anticipated.
