We received a mailing yesterday detailing the new aid plan. It states that those with incomes between $60k and $180k can expect to see there contribution drop 1/3 to 1/2 of last years. Does anyone have confirmation of this? I really hope that this is the case.

Yeah its true. My two best friends are going to Harvard this fall as well and we fit into the three spectrums. My family income is under $60,000 so I only have work-study and a really low student contribution.

My friend's family income is around $147,000 and he is paying around $9,000. ( He has a big family 5 kids 4 now in college)

My other friend's family income is over $200k and she still received some financail aid... wasn't alot but it was something.

It depends on other factors besides just income. Some who have incomes of 180k or less may not receive any aid. Each situation is different - there aren't any hard and fast rules .

other factors = assets

number of children in college, age of parents etc

Any idea of when letters will be sent out?

The financial aid website says the end of June.

The letters are coming out now - we just got ours - $0.
