I'm a high school senior from Dubai and I would like to study in the US, but preferably in an ivy league school, or MIT/Purdue/ Georgia tech such, and major in mechanical or electronics engineering.
However these turn out to be quite exorbitant for me, and hence I would only apply if I'm sure of receiving aid. I haven't given the SAT 1 yet, but I'm confident of a 2000+ score. My SAT 2 scores are: Physics - 800, Chemistry-780, Math-780. I have good grades and a good record throughout my academic life.
What are my chances of getting in and receiving financial aid/scholarships?

Everyday, there is a thread like OP for international students FA in the USA Universities on CC. OP should do some search before asking a question like that.

and an entire forum…

It’s unlikely that you’d get the aid you need at publics like Purdue and Georgia Tech.

Your personal situation is going to determine where you should apply. If your family has a good income and will be expected to contribute more than it is willing to pay, then schools like ivies and MIT won’t work because they don’t give merit scholarships. If your family is low income/low assets, then those are the schools to apply to, BUT they are very hard to get admitted to …even more so for int’ls. There aren’t many schools that give lots of aid to int’ls.

If your family will not pay its expected financial contribution, then you need to determine how much your family will pay and then find schools where your stats will give you merit scholarships for the rest. This won’t be easy since most schools do not give merit scholarships to int’ls.

So what is your situation?
