Financial Aid for International Students?

Hey everyone,
Initially when I applied to USC (and other colleges), I did not click the financial aid button because it reduced my chance of being admitted (because international students are not need-blind admission)
Now that I am admitted, do you think it's too late to ask for financial aid?
I really want to attend USC but the tuition is a burden for my parents.

Please help! Thank you!

Simply put: There is nothing USC can do for you. Trust me, I’ve tried.

Unless you were offered one of the merit based scholarships (Trustee/Presidential/Dean’s/Mork/etc), chances are you will not receive any financial aid from USC as an international student, barring some sudden change in policy. USC currently does not offer need-based grants to international students (F-1/J-1), so you will need to find private funding elsewhere. For private loans, most lenders in the US require international students to have a US citizen co-signer.

Ironic for a university that boasts its “diversity,” I know… “most diverse campus in the nation” sounds great on paper, but it’s not entirely a “woo let’s be diverse” thing as far as I can tell, IMO it’s partly a “woo these international students are all paying full tuition!” I guess someone forgot to factor in the socioeconomic factor when talking about diversity…

That’s disappointing…
Well, thanks so much Lencias!
