Does anyone know how much if any financial aid is available or offered to international undergraduate students at Cornell? Any information you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi! I am also an international student so I dug into that topic a little bit. They do offer financial aid to internationals however it IS need aware, meaning how much you need will affect their decision. You can still apply but not expect much financial aid unless you are an absolutely outstanding student.

@Hanssarpei. I think your answer is a little bit ambiguous/incorrect

As an international student:
Applying for Financial Aid will NOT affect your admissions decision. ADMISSIONS IS NEED BLIND. It is most certainly NOT NEED AWARE. However…

Finaid for internationals depends on the income, assets, financials of your household, AS WELL AS your “soft factors” so sort of semi-merit based. I think it also depends on country of origin as well to some degree. I remember Canadians had a much better chance of getting aid than China students because of some law/treaties. It’s really difficult to get details on these though so I wouldn’t waste too much time trying to figure that out.

FYI as a Canadian, I received a lot of aid (~84%) for all of my semesters, because nothing really changed about my parents’ financials. It did feel like it reflected my parent’s financials more than personal merit. On the other hand, my friends from Korea/Taiwan were at 0 aid.
