Does Colby offer need-based financial aid to international students?
I presume admission is extremely difficult for internationals, but once accepted, is the "full demonstrated need" met ?

I scored 790 Critical Reading, 730 in Math, and 670 in writing.
I hope I'll get really good SAT II scores.

Do I have a chance ?

By the way, I'm Honduran. (Central America)

jhl, you're an international student right? I've seen some of your posts too.
I wrote something about applying to a lot of colleges on the International Students forum.

The thing is I desperately want to leave my country and I figured applying to 16 colleges with my stats increases my chances of getting into at least one LAC with all the financial aid I need. I'm sure you know what a ****** it is to apply to colleges needing financial aid, competition is tougher and you always feel tempted to doubt if what the colleges offer you will meet your real financial need. It scares me to think colleges will determine my financial need to be a couple of thousand dollars lower than what it REALLY is. I'd be damned.

^I know and understand all that you said.. haha.. let's just keep our fingers crossed.. you'll definitely get a decent offer.. are you going to ED2 anywhere?

I haven't decided ... I might go ED II for some college, but I think I won't. For some reason Williams is my favorite and, even though I would love knowing I'm getting accepted with financial aid to a college like Vassar, I would hate not knowing if I could have gotten into Williams.

So, I think I'm not going ED II.

How about you?
To how many colleges are you applying?

I think I've seen some of your posts too skunk though I'm not sure. If I'm not mistaken you have impressive stats!
Are you applying ED II somewhere?
Where are you applying ED II jhl ?

Wouldn't it be nice if in six months we could all be at Williams having a nice little chat? Hehehe ...

Wait, does Swarthmore have ED II ? I think it doesn't have ED II, what you can do is apply Early Decision for the Winter semester... that would mean you'd have to wait for a year to go to college, right? I don't think Swarthmore has ED II though ...

If you did then I presume you signed the binding agreement ... I'm not sure, but I think you can still wriggle out of it ... Why don't you email Swarthmore and tell them you got confused because the Common App website is not clear enough..?
They must understand ... plus, you can tell them you reaally want to attend Swarthmore and that's why you wanted to apply ED II...

Oh ... ok, well I hope winter ED really means ED II, because applying ED II to Swarthmore seems like a pretty good idea. I'm getting sick of all this application process... but I'll hold on, leaving my country is a powerful incentive ;)

Even if I apply ED II, I will have to go through all this app process. The results come out in mid-Feb, remember?
I'm from Nepal.
Btw, you seem to have posted the same thread in almost all the colleges.:DYour CR score is very impressive though.
