Financial Aid for International Students

Just wondering, could anyone give me information on how likely it would be for an international student to get financial aid from Reed?

Very unlikely, but do apply to Reed if you want to attend. You never know how much they want you!

So I guess it's back to trying to get into Yale - also very unlikely! But thanks, I'll probably still apply to Reed, I think it would be a good school for me :)

Just out of interest, do you know of any rich LACs that would give aid to int. students?

I don't want to intentionally tout my future school over others, but if you're in Asia, Wesleyan University has the Freeman Asian Scholars Program. Two students are selected from 11 (? not sure how many) Asian countries, and Wesleyan pays for their tuition, room & board, and a flight to-and-from. They might pay for more, but I don't remember exactly what. Very competitive, but definately look into it.

Maybe it's unlikely...but you still got a chance. Why don't you try? Ah...and one more thing...how many intern students do receive financial aid? i'm just curious, that's all...

For Reed, it's 36, according to the College Board website. Wesleyan has 53 int. students receiving aid.

Wesleyan also is twice as big as Reed- however I don't know if they have twice as many international applicants

I encourage mariana-b to apply. despite all the statistics, you have high chance of getting lucky in Reed.

Thanks, I think I will apply. The Reed website says that they give financial aid to approx 15 - 25 int. freshman, so I have a chance :)

Hello international applicants,
I was just wondering how many of you people, of class 2009, applied Early (ED1) to Reed and how many got admissions according to the ED1 program?

This is only for the international students.

International students applying ED1 to Reed this Nov,2005, PM me , alrite.
