Financial aid for International transfer students

kazzar: I know at least 20 schools offering need-based financial aid to international students. There is a program called EducationUSA, it’s an official consulting agency, part of American Councils for International Education. They have offices in many countries (I’m sure they have one in India) and they provide free advice to international students willing to study in the US. They have all the international admissions stats and a list of schools offering financial aid to international applicants. Google EducationUSA and find out how to contact them in your country. Good luck!

Anna, this student is applying as a TRANSFER international student. While there are schools that do provide need based aid to incoming freshmen international students, many do NOT do so for transfer students. This student needs to look very carefully at the schools to determine if they provide aid at ALL to international transfer students.

This student’s transfer list is an extremely competitive one…these schools accept a VERY small number of transfer students…period. The %age of international transfers accepted is even smaller. The first hurdle this student needs to leap is getting accepted.

like the tata scholarship, can i get to know abut more such scholarship if i dont get institution based aid?

This thread is OLD, and of really will get better answers if you start a new thread with your question. but I’ll reply to you anyway. Financial aid for international students is limited anyway. Financial aid for international transfer students is almost non-existent. And if it is available, your need will be considered when your application for admission is considered in most cases.
