Financial aid for internationals

I am a prospective Dartmouth aspirant but will be needing a huge amt of fin aid to attend. So is Dartmouth generous towards intl's in giving aid? (or will it become more competitive than HYMP if I ask for aid)

btw, are there any Indian students associations?

Dartmouth is not need blind toward international students so your ability to pay will be a factor in admissions. However, if you are admitted Dartmouth will meet 100% of your demonstrated need.

By Indian do you mean Native American or from the country of India? There is a student association for Native Americans.

sybbie: thanks a lot for the information. i read past your other postings and came to know that around 59 int'l students were accepted w/ fin aid at Dartmouth for the class of 2008. Can you provide some current statistics i.e how many international students got accepted with aid for the class of 2010? moreover it will be great if you can give me a rough idea of how many applicants from my country (India) get accepted?

for the class of 2009, according to Dartmouth's common data set, there are 59 international students in attendance. The common data set for the class of 2010 has not been posted.

the only reason I know that one person from India is in the class of 2008 is through the green book which is a listing of current freshmen. If someone from the class of 2009 or 2010 can look in the back of their green book by country, hopefully they will be able to tell you how many students from india are in their class.

The 2010 Green Book lists 3 people from India.
