i'm very interested in UMich, but because its a public school, i'm guessing most of its scholarships and financial aid is provided for its IS students. my family makes really little, and this financial aid issue is really a turnoff. any umich OOS student can give me their two cents?
thanks

definitely apply first(use a feewaiver so you don’t have to pay anything, assuming that you’re eligible), then worry about $ when you’re deciding.

im a poor OOS student, but michigan gave me around 20k in grants, and the rest is covered with work study jobs, loans, and parent’s financial support.

It’s not much, but I’m satisfied with it.

^^Yea, my family also needs significant FA for my sibling. We are OOS. We are expected to pay about 30k out of pocket annually, which isn’t great. But we also got about 45k of local scholarships, so that’s cool.

good luck getting anything
