Financial Aid for Regular Decision?

<p>Has anyone received their package yet? I understand they went out last week, but we have not gotten ours yet.</p>

<p>We are deciding between Fordham (whose financial aid package was not nearly what we need based on our EFC) and Loyola, or possible gap year or community college if we are unable to meet the financial shortfall.</p>

<p>Our son did not have a financial "safety" school. His sister is a college freshman, and our experience with her was that the schools who admitted her were very much committed to seeing that she would have enough financial aid to attend.</p>

<p>That does not seem to be the case so far this year with our son.</p>

<p>Different academic qualifications between the two (but not by an order of magnitude) to be sure, but may more likely be a question of pre- versus post-recession college application.</p>

<p>I would be interested in hearing others' experiences and insights.</p>

If you have not rec’d anything yet you may not be getting any aide.
My son rec’d his merit aide info with his early acceptance. I think I read somewhere that the RDs did get aide info if applicable.</p>
