Financial Aid for Spring Admits?

Has anyone who was admitted in the spring received a financial aid package? And if so was it good?

Marshall spring admit here also wondering the same thing :)

same as kMz

Still waiting.

yep. same here. was told financial aid package letter would arrive end of week…

It seems to me that spring admits are the last to get financial aid. Two other kids in my school were fall admits and received their aid packages almost 2 weeks ago. They are both not attending usc either. Where as I am willing to pay more than I have to at my other schools to attend usc, yet I still haven’t heard anything and everytime I call, the date gets pushed back. I was wondering if anyone knows how the packages are for spring admits. Am I likely to recieve a bad package because I’m not a fall admit? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I called the financial aid office today and they told me I would receive my package in the mail by Tuesday. The person sounded like they had my aid up in front of them so I’m pretty sure we’ll actually all receive something by the end of next week.

just got the spring admit financial aid package and it sucked!!! the irony is that the first line of the letter was “Our commitment to you is simple: we do not want the cost of education to be a barrier to your enrollment at usc.” what a laugh. got only $7200 in grants, and $4000 in loans. still need another $16,000 - and that’s just for one semester! way more than our EFC. ridiculous!

Well at least you got your financial aid package. I’m a fall kid and I’m still waiting…

i got virtually the same package as a spring admit… 16k for one semester. that means 32 a year! i have a 0 EFC on the fafsa… and the most any other school has left for me to pay was 12k/year at colleges of the same or higher caliber. USC is my first choice but im not sure its worth 100k in debt… did i just get bad aid because of Spring? does anyone think there is a good chance if i talk to the FAO that i can get more aid? or that i may get a little better aid next year for attending a full year?

My friend’s D was a spring admit–started Jan 2009. She got an awesome FAid package–great merit aid + great need-based aid (family has very low income & D was VAL from public HS that doesn’t send many to USC). She’s very happy there & family was pleased with the package she received. I believe it’s renewable. Her brother attended USC with similarly great merit & need aid package & is just now graduating from med school & starting his residency. He does have a LOT of loans to repay–undergrad & med school.

I am a fall admit and still do not have my financial package yet. so I hope what everyone is saying about Tuesday is true.

I was left with about $15k left to cover. I think my parents are taking out a loan to cover that extra 15k (30k a year.)

Is it safe to assume that everything doubles for a whole year? I got 8k in a grant, so would I get 16k the next year?
