Financial Aid for subsequent years

I'm wondering how the financial aid for subsequent years would be for those students manage to get good bargains as freshmen.

For example, if you get in RD as a freshman and you bargain with the Financial Service Office to get, say, $5,000 more grants, can you get the same or similar more amount of grants down the road?

If the college uses the standard formula for coming up with your grants in subsequent years, then the potential differenct of grants between applying ED and RD would be only for the first year, am I right?

In our house our EFC has gone up slightly, D's student contribution has goine up slightly but the package has remained pretty consitent.

As long as there are no major increases in your income and assets (and that of your parents) your package will be pretty consitent year over year. If you have stafford loans, then your loans may increase lin line with the federal
borrowing guidelines.
