financial aid for those students admitted off of the waitlist

Hey,
has anyone else who was admitted off of the waitlist this week received their financial aid award letter yet or know when we can expect to get it. I hope its soon because nd wants to know by tuesday if we're going or not

I got an e-mail that had a copy of the financial aid award.

The official one was mailed on Thursday.

well i was originally told i would receive fin aid on wednesday, and when nothing came i called ND. turns out they would not figure out my award until we sent them copies of our actual tax forms. they said i can expect to now get my award email on monday, but i wouldnt have called i dont know that i ever would have gotten one. i am honestly really frustrated with the way that they have handled this.

It's damn frustrating, page 47. I'm in the same boat. I'm waiting, too. They give us until Tuesday, but they still haven't told us financial aid information. They didn't ask for signed copies of the tax forms when we applied for fin aid. I asked them if they did and they said no but we want them now. I've been trying to get it since the minute I got in and it's been 5 days now and they keep giving the same bull **** answer of probably tomorrow but no garuntees and of course I get nothing the next day.

ughh i know. if it is not in my email inbox by monday afternoon, i'm calling admissions and asking for an extension. as much as i love ND, i refuse to commit without a concrete financial aid statement. grrrrrrr

that's terrible that they haven't told you yet when they know you're on a deadline. i would be so mad.

still having nothing in the mail, i finally decided to call the financial aid office and they said that i need signed copies of our tax return forms, even though they never originally said that (and the lady that i talked to in finaid wasnt exactly the nicest either, did anyone else see this?) so then i called gabriel brown and he gave me an extension until next tuesday
how did it go for the rest of you

I was in the same situation and mine arrived yesterday. They gave me 21k, but I asked for a reply extension also and it was granted for next tuesday too.

i finally received my package by email on monday, and i sent in my reply card monday night haha

Domers 2011!!!

people who received it by email: Did they send it to your personal email address or your nd address, cause if so, I didn't know we could get our nd address yet.

I received a copy of my financial aid letter through regular e-mail.

Just so you know, the request for tax information isn't specific to people coming in off the waiting list. My daughter was accepted EA, and they needed signed tax returns to be eligible for financial aid as well. If you look through financial aid materials online and in packages, some places it states specifically that the signed tax returns are needed; others it does not. But it is part of the financial aid process for everyone, regardless of when they were accepted. I agree, though, that it should be much more clearly stated.

Haha, are you sure about that? I finally got mine, and I'm officially going, but when I called the fin aid office about this ordeal I asked if they requested it when I first applied for fin aid. They said that they did not initially ask for it.

Again, some materials include the request for tax info, some do not. Spotting the inconsistency, I contacted Financial Aid back in February, when I was putting everything together and they said I should go ahead and include it, as they were going to ask for it anyway.

Honestly, I think that is a very fair request--what better way is there to verify income?
