Does anybody know how this process works? Will a school let an applicant know how much financial aid they will be granted with that applicant?s letter of acceptance? Or will a student actually have to put down their acceptance deposit and register for classes before financial aid is rewarded? Reason I am asking is because I recently got a letter of acceptance from Lehigh, but it says nothing about any financial aid that I will receive from them. They want me to pay a non-refundable deposit by June 1st, but I do not know how much aid I will receive from them. Could this be because I did not receive any aid from them, or is it not known until one registers for classes?

It works the same way as freshman admissions in terms of notification. You get your acceptance letter, then a finaid letter a few days later. Then you decide.

Many schools have different policies for the finaid award / admissions rate for finaid for transfers than for frosh admissions though.

Which schools are need blind for transfers? Which aren't?

i know brown isn't, i don't think tufts is. i don't have a comprehensive list. my advice is to call the school and ask.
