So UCSD gave me my "preliminary" FA package upon acceptance, and at the same time notified me that the official financial aid awards will be available in May.

So I was wondering, do they want us to send in a copy of our tax forms or something to verify that the info matches that which was put onto our FAFSA?

It is just like a random lottery thingee, if your FAFSA is drawn up, it will be verified if not then you are good. Mine was chosen for verification at UC Davis but not at UCSD. It shows up as a headline on your Financial awards page, if it doesn’t then don’t worry about it.

However, UCSD will send you stuff later for what they want and what not.

Sometimes if there are weird changes going on for your FAFSA such as an extreme drop in income or something, they will mark you for verification automatically.

Mine had significant changes and they did ask for a copy of the tax form, so that makes sense. I was also asked for it by Davis and Santra Cruz.

I was asked for it by Santa Cruz and Berkeley. What happens if we don’t send in a verification because my dad’s estimates were pretty dead on. Also, Berkeley hasn’t told me what I need to send… am I supposed to send it now or wait?
