Financial Aid from Tulane

I might give them a call but understand they are really busy. Yes, I am very stressed but I am sure they are too. It helps just knowing some others are receiving theirs. Like you said, they are making progress.

OMG…I just received an email from Tulane. Was so excited. Then find out my sons social security number has been entered wrong on one of the documents…either FAFSA or College board…so that has to be fixed before anything can be done…ok…the stress level is going up again. Just compare those 2 numbers to all of the other forms…W2’s, tax returns, transcripts…the one with the most matches wins…LOL

LOL. OMG, it is always the little things that bite us in the ass. The good news is that means they were processing your package!

OK, I am going to swim home now.

Yes…very good news that they are working on his package and can’t finish it…LOL…just my luck. A lot of little things biting me in the ass are just as aggravating as one big bite. I offered to fax a copy of his social security card and asked what I could do to speed the process up…even offered to buy them dinner…LOL

Just so you don’t feel too bad, we have not gotten a FA package yet either. Very frustrating and VERY hard on the nerves. I feel your pain.

This is ridiculous. Still nothing.

When I called last Thursday she assured me it would be up in the next few days. I submitted everything insanely early (like before January 15th), I’m from NY, you’d think they’d give me my package with adequate time to make travel arrangements if need be.

Do you think they are done posting for today?

I received the email about my sons social security number at 4:50, so they were still working on them at that time. Like I said earlier…we know we will have them by May 1…LOL

also waiting. all forms filed on time. wish there were something to do to help speed the process.

Got mine today LOL. Worst package I’ve gotten yet LOL. Good thing I’ve settled on another school… (lol) Best of luck to everyone else.

Obviously wasn’t meant to be dreamerr. Have a great time at Binghamton!

Thank you!

Did anyone get FA information today? Any calls to the Financial Aid office to see what is happening?

We didn’t receive anything today. I received an email telling me to call but when I did the person answering the phone would not let me talk to my sons financial aid counselor. She told me that they were not taking any calls from incoming freshmen about financial aid because they were busy working on the aid. I read the email to her telling me to call or email and that I chose to call but she said she could not put me through to her. I then sent an email and received a response about my sons social security number mix up. Below is a copy of the email…I don’t know what she means by it will be ready to read tomorrow and then she will process as soon as it is on her desk, but maybe someone(fallenchemist) can explain that to me.

Ms. Helton
The social was corrected today and the file will be ready to read tomorrow. I will process the file as soon as it’s on my desk.

This is the one I received last week…

Fri 3/26/2010 3:58 PM

Hi Ms. Helton
We did receive both applications so nothing is late. We will be reviewing the file asap and Stefan will receive notification as soon as the award is processed. If you haven’t heard anything by the middle of next week, you can contact me by email or phone. Have a great weekend!

Positive thinking…saving the best for last…LOL

or

I am positive I will be crazy by the end of week…new supply of xanax needed!

LOL. I interpret that to mean it will be ready for you to read tomorrow. Here’s hoping!

Just be grateful Tulane isn’t in Rhode Island. They wouldn’t have gotten to work yesterday or today probably. I won’t go as far as to say it is Katrina-like up here, but it is bad. Roads were closed over half the state I think, and I have seen flooding in places I couldn’t have imagined. Finally just starting to recede.

Tulane’s financial aid package made our decision very easy. I was pretty shocked.

That is to say shocked in a bad way. The package was the stingiest of all the schools that were being considered.

I like your interpretation!

Be careful. I have been watching all the flooding going on up there on the news and it is very bad. I don’t guess it would make you feel better to tell you it is sunny and 80 degrees here. Sorry, that wasn’t very nice of me to brag about our great weather today… :)

Keeping you in our prayers, fallenchemist. Don’t worry about your daughter. We are having beautiful weather here in New Orleans. And it’s almost festival time and crawfish season. Hoping for a safe hurricane season this year for all you incoming freshmen.
