Financial Aid from waitlist

I'd like to hear from students who were taken off the waitlist to Ivies or top LAC's and who had applied for financial aid. I suspect since a waitlisted student wasn't a first choice, there would be no need for the school to go out of their way to give a nice financial aid package. A friend's son is hoping for financial aid reasons to get in a certain school off their waitlist. Seems a long shot to me.

MY s is or may be in the situation-if anyone knows how this works please let us know!!! thanx!!:)

Depends on the college.

Usually, a college that guarentees to meet need will do so, but it will not be as good as an already accepted students aid package. It means that the aid forms would have also been filed by the deadlines. Also, you'd have to check each colleges policies about waitlist students.
