I am really stressed right now. I have done everything I can possibly do to try and confirm my citizenship status to USC. At one point on my application portal, it read that they began to review my application. However, when I came back from Explore USC on Tuesday, I happened to look at my status once more and I saw that I needed to confirm my citizenship once again. I have had to go through this financial aid process on my own, and am very conscermed now because I would really like to attend USC. I have gone to the SSA, updated my status, allowed ample time in between this and my resubmission of my fafsa. I resumnitted the fafsa three times already and nothing has happened. I was so concerned yesterday that I sent my passport to USC in my access account even though I knew they do not want this because I have been left with nowhere to go from here (I thought that maybe someone would understand). I have contacted the SSA and they have confirmed my status has been updated and I even received my new ssa card. If someone could please help me with this, I would really appreciate it. I would really like to attend USC but see no way unless I either receive some aid or somehow receive a full scholarship even though I was interviewed for a half scholarship. Seeing that these chances are slim, I would like to make sure I attempt to access all out unities to help me. Thank you for any advice!

When you called and/or emailed USC financial aid, what did they say? When you were at Explore, did you ask the financial aid representative your questions?

When I was at explore, I was under the impression that I had taken care of the matter as my account said the application was under review, so I did not ask. I emailed usc last night, but arrived too late from school to call them today. I will make sure to call them tomorrow, I have still not heard a reply. If I need to go back to usc I do not have a problem with that. I even wrote in my email that I would be willing to go back. I live only about 2-3 hours away. I will call tomorrow but I’m worried it’s too late and that there will be no aid for me even if I handle this issue.

Tomorrow will not be too late.

Your financial aid application was on time. You will not be penalized because they needed additional documentation. You will receive the aid for which you qualify.

Call or email USC financial aid and ask what they need. Then provide what they need.

Good luck.
