ok so i'm clueless about the whole financial aid process.....so i have a few questions:

1) do schools send out financial packages after you said you'll be attending or before?

2) if a school asks you for verfication stuff and has you fill out a form about your enrollment status should i still put full time assuming I would be full time even if i didn't cofirm my enrollment there?

any other tips and info will be greatly appreciated

Thanks for any help!!!!!!

1) do schools send out financial packages after you said you’ll be attending or before?

If you have applied for financial aid…or you are awarded some kind of merit aid based on your application package, you should have that information very close to when you get your acceptance. You will have it BEFORE you say you are attending. It’s part of the information you will use to make your decision about where to attend.

2) if a school asks you for verfication stuff and has you fill out a form about your enrollment status should i still put full time assuming I would be full time even if i didn’t cofirm my enrollment there?

If a school asks you for supporting documentation, you need to send it. If you have applied as a full time student, then yes, you would indicate “full time” as your student status. Some schools will ask you for supporting information BEFORE they make your financial aid award determination.

The only way you’d be committed to attending before knowing your financial aid is with Early Decision.

Not really. With ED, they send you an early FA award as well. and, if the FA isn’t good, you can decline.

NOT TRUE. Early Decision students who are accepted receive their financial aid package WITH their acceptances (or very shortly thereafter). The ONE reason a student can decline the ED acceptance is if the financial aid package is insufficient.
