I viewed my Financial Aid package for UC Davis the other week, and it doesn't show my Cal Grant A? I've check my Webgrant/FAFSA thing, and it shows it on there, but not on the financial aid package for UCD??

I get approximately $21,000 from the financial aid package from UC Davis, WITHOUT my Cal Grant A included. But WITH the Cal Grant A included, I get about $32,000-ish. That seems like ALOT, it would cover me for the entire year, but I don't understand why my Cal Grant A isn't included? I checked my friend's Financial Aid package for UCD and it says Cal Grant A on his, but why not mines? I'm confused. Someone help me please.

And also, it says that I am required to take out a loan? Do I have to even though I don't think I need to?

Can you list your aid package?

What was your EFC?

You’re not obligated to take out a loan.

Federal Direct Loan Sub-NH $3,500.00
Federal Perkins Loan-NH $2,000.00
Federal Pell Grant Program-NH $5,550.00
Entering UG scholarship - NH $15,585.00

My Cal Grant A SHOULD be included on there, but it’s not…

On my WebGrant, It says:

School of Attendance: 00131300 00 UNIV OF CA - DAVIS
Total Award Amount: $11,124

My school is listed on there… :
and on my ‘Entering UG scholarship’ thing, I don’t understand why I get so much when most people I know are getting around 5k only. It’s not a bad thing though! I’m curious as to why it’s like that.

My guess is that somehow your Cal Grant is getting listed with that scholarship entry.

you need to call the school. If they do change your package, the scholarship amount may go down.

Another thing…UCs seem to have some flexibility on how they use Cal Grants. It seems like as long as they follow Blue and Gold rules, they can decide how to meet the cost of fees anyway they want…with Pell, scholarships, grants, whatever.

Oops, I forgot to say that my EFC is 0. If you didn’t already know that.

Should I declare my Cal Grant A under the scholarship entry thing? Because it doesn’t show it. and I haven’t call the school yet, but I will tomorrow. My friend called and she kept getting automated voice messages and whatnot. I have a feeling that it’s going to be like that for me too…

And what do you mean? I don’t really understand. It said on my Financial Aid thing that it has identified me as a student that may eligible for the UC’s Blue and Gold opportunity Plan. What is that? and when will I get it? Will it cover the rest of my expenses?
