So I just found out I got accepted today. When I viewed my financial aid summary, I was very confused. There were two columns which said "Offered" and "Accepted." Can someone please explain to me how to interpret my Financial Aid Award Summary. Thanks.

I’m not completely sure either, but I’m guessing that the offered amount is everything including loans and work-study. The accepted is only grant money (money you do not have to pay back) without loans and work-study, because you do not necessarily have to accept those offers. That’s just my guess, though. By the way, congratulations!!

If you accept grants, I think you have to accept loans too.
And FA accepted just means you accepted it. While offer menas they offered it to you.

So for me it says
Offered grant 27000 accepted grant 0.00
Offered loan 5500 accepted loan 0.00
And so on

Hmm… Nevermind then. Then calling the office would be smart.

wait, how do you check your financial aid? I cant find it in the student center

Does anyone find their financial aid package to be really bad? I have a 0 EFC and my total package is only 39k including loans and grants. However, the cost of attendance is 53k. Does Emory expect me to pay 14k out of pocket even though my EFC is 0 and by family’s income is LESS THAN 10k!?

@Matt: There’s a financial aid link on the student center page. It’s under the Finances section. Just click on the link that says “Emory Financial Aid.”

Did anyone receive the Loan Replacement Grant?

I qualify for the LRG but instead I received $5,500 in Stafford loans (subsidized and unsubsidized)… I don’t really understand how this works; can anyone explain?

my financial aid plan also sucks. I have an EFC around 4,000 and they gave me a financial aid plan of 38K including 5500 in loans. I can’t afford that, so might not go to Emory.

very disappointing financial aid package.

Mine was pretty good, in the sense that I would pay the same to go to Emory as I would to go to my state school, UF.

I also have an EFC of 0 and my family’s total income is less than 10K. I received 42K, 34K of which was grant and the rest was comprised of loans and work study.

Btw, does anyone know if the national merit scholarship Emory gives is subtracted from the grant or loans?
