It’s possible there is a correlation, unfortunately there’s no way to really know unless we’re accepted. EDIT: or rejected

Any early write finaid candidates out there with a dissipated documents tab?

(Can I also say how ashamed I am that I’m delving this deeply into such a strange technical possibility? I would never have believed it of myself a month ago)

As much as I wish that these tab disappearances indicated admissions decisions, I really don’t think it’s significant. Although I do still see both the home and docs tabs, I’m pretty sure I was either rejected or waitlisted since I did not receive the diversity event email that all the urms received (and i am a urm). Also, aren’t the financial aid office and the admissions office entirely unrelated?

However, I also do not have any idea why some people have these tabs and some don’t (maybe a mistake or glitch in the system?), but no one should lose hope because of this! Less than two days until we find out!!! Good luck everyone!!!

I checked the source code for the page. No link to documents. I found the link I used to get to the documents page previously. The page does not exist. This probably isn’t an error, and if it is, it’s a rather major one.

In my D’s case too, I see only the Home tab and nothing to click on. My feeling is that since these pages are dynamically generated, the tabs are generated based on a certain status. Logically, I think the finaid status might be ‘closed’ which can happen only if one is rejected. My D is going to be terribly disappointed.

Thank you, yrod. This happened last year, and I’m sure it’s happened every year, but there seems to be no correlation between these pages and your decision.

Repeat it: you don’t know anything for sure until the letter’s in your hands or the email’s on your screen. Only about 65ish hours left, anyway.

Could someone provide me the link to these pages you’re talking about? I haven’t logged on in such a long time, and I’ve lost the link somewhere on my computer…

Oh and, I don’t have that tab either. But, it’s okay, you guys, we have a few days. We’re all intelligent people here and I’m sure we’ll end up in great places.

Okay, so I’m logged in. What’s this financial aid portal you’re all talking about? I just see the option of “Applicant,” and then “Communication” on one side and “Admission Information” on the other. Is this only for students who applied for financial aid?

Alright, I found it. I have both tabs, and I’m a recruited athlete. However, I did not apply for financial aid, so I don’t know why I can even log into this portal.

I’m a veteran applicant, so I feel for you guys. No finals, just sitting around waiting. I feel like a high schooler sitting around nervous about college apps. It’s silly enough to make me chuckle.

I just checked my daughter’s “portals.” While there has been no change to the financial site, on the admissions portal, where you check your documents received (test scores, etc.), there are now two new boxes underneath that–placement tests and something else–that weren’t there before. Anyone else?

@minoafrau: I have two boxes as well… “Placement Tests” and “Other Tests.” Under the first box is my score for the iBT TOEFL exam I took last year, while the second shows the scores for my SAT Subject Tests.

yeah I have them too, again I think that’s just more system restructuring. Everybody’s tests got entered into the computer so it probably doesn’t mean anything either way if they’ve showed up.
