hey everybody.. i'm hoping to get some advice from ppl who know about the financial aid process for international students.. so i'll explain the situation i'm in first.

When I was applying to WashU, I wasn't aware of the merit-based scholarships available to international students and didn't apply to any of them. I just assumed that WashU was just like any other school and thought applying for any form of financial aid would hurt my chances at getting in. My parents can support me for the first year, but after that, I'm on my own. I've been admitted to Duke as well, but they have a strict policy of not giving money to internationals. I've also been admitted to a school in my home country, which isn't so bad, but I feel i can get a much better education at Wash U. Would there be any way to get some sort of financial support? I heard WashU is a really generous school with a lot of money. Also, I've learned that an international student in the class of 2011 is going to receive financial aid from his sophomore year (he paid for his freshman year). If anyone can offer any advice, I'd appreciate it.
